I was recently contacted by Louise from John Thomas Toys and asked if I wanted to select a toy to review. This company is relatively new to me. From a look of their website, I could see they are based in Norwich, Norfolk. They offer a range of premium silicone dildos and stretchers in a variety of sizes from small to extra large.
After browsing their site, I decided on the Snake. I like unusual dildos rather than realistic ‘penis’ ones. I was drawn to the marbled orange and blue colouring and the realistic reptilian look of the dildo. My choice was the smallest size, (7 inches) with a Shore rating of A20 (medium). My lovely Snake dildo measures:
- Overall length (bottom of base to the tip of the snake’s ‘nose’): 8.2 inches.
- Insertable length: 5.6 inches.
- Circumference at top of shaft: 2.4 inches.
- Circumference at the middle of the shaft: 4.8 inches.
The Snake dildo is also compatible with the Doc Johnson Vac-U-Lock Luxe Harness system. This means you can use it for pegging or strap-on play with a partner. Alternatively, you can use it for solo-play as a hand-held toy or with a suction cup. I don’t have a Vac-u-Lock system. I do have a Tantus suction cup, and the Snake did fit reasonably securely on the peg.
When I received my Snake dildo, it was shrink-wrapped in plastic with a holograph sticker to show that it is a genuine John Thomas Toys item. The snake was nestled amongst brown packaging paper inside a sturdy brown cardboard carton. I like how the packaging is minimalistic and environmentally-friendly. Shipping was discreet and quick, via Parcelforce Express 24 courier service.
Slippery Snake charming
When I held the Snake, I couldn’t help but admire its aesthetic quality. Its design is actually based on 3D scans of a real snake, so the scales feel and look like a snakeskin. The molding of the snake is via a copper mold which means there are no unsightly seams on the surface. One side of the snake’s profile has the ‘shield’ JT logo etched into the base, while the opposite side has John Thomas Toys TM stamped into the base.
To play with the John Thomas Toys Snake dildo, I coated it in water-based lubricant and used it vaginally. I found the tapered tip of the shaft helps it ease in, and I tried it with the ‘nose’ facing both upwards and downwards. There was an occasion I attempted to use the Snake anally, and it proved a bit too slippery for me to insert on my own (I was time-limited which also didn’t help). But I think I’d like to try the Snake with Mr Bunny sometime, so I’ll update this review when we do get to use it on me anally.
I usually need clitoral stimulation to climax, so I used my Satisfyer Pro 2 on my clitoris whilst thrusting the Snake. When I reached orgasm I preferred thrusting the Snake with its nose pointing down rather than with it facing up. I think in this position it may have been rubbing my Anterior Fornix erogenous zone. In any case, it felt good and the blended orgasm I achieved was both pleasurable and intense.
Cleaning the Snake is easy- I found soap and water to be the best way to wash it. I like to leave it to air dry since the silicone does have some ‘drag’ to it, so it will attract lint. The Snake is currently on sale, with the 7-inch model priced at £35.00 at the time of writing, reduced from £69.99. This represents fantastic value since the silicone is really lovely and soft. The Snake dildo gets a 9/10 rating from me. The reason I’m deducting a star is I think it would be better if the silicone was slightly firmer. Its squishiness enables the nose to fold and touch the base of the ‘S’ bend. In my opinion, this amount of flexibility is slightly too much.
Overall, I’m glad I selected the Snake to review, and I think it will be well-suited for those that like unique dildos, as well as those that prefer a tapered end rather than a wider one.
