I bought this corset when it was on sale, and got the size 14-16. My bust size is 38C/D, and waist is 33″. The corset has a zip at the back which is placed to one side, so the lacing remains central on the back.
The stitching and materials seem to be good quality, whilst the design is attractive, with a very flattering effect from the panelling. It fits nicely, to accentuate an hourglass figure, and looks very feminine.
The bows provide a nice finish without being too gaudy, and the corset is nice enough to wear as a top in its own right. It would even look classy worn under a smart jacket, with a skirt.
As basques and corsets are quite similar, I thought I’d include a couple from Lovehoney.
Lovehoney’s Adore Me Basque set
I was lucky enough to be selected by Lovehoney to test this beautiful basque set in red. I received a Large, and I am a size 14-16, with 38C bust. The basque was delivered promptly in the discreet brown box. It was in a simple plastic cellophane bag.
On first impressions, the set certainly has the wow factor. The red and black colour is striking, and the black lacy edging looks sophisticated and elegant. Trying the basque on was a bit fiddly given the number of hook and eye fastenings on the rear. It seemed to fit well, despite some extra flesh around my midriff. I found the basque comfortable enough initially. As the day wore on, I did notice that the boning in the back started to dig in, and bow out.
Whether that is to do with the sizing being incorrect, or my posture/shape, I’m not too sure. But it is something that I experienced so thought it was necessary to mention. Also, I found by the end of the day, the under-wires were starting to feel slightly uncomfortable as well.
The G-string that accompanies the basque is quite skimpy, but does complement it nicely. I find it more attractive than the usual accompanying G-strings in sets such as this. There is lace on the string part, which is nicer than just a plain strap. I am pleased on the whole with the appearance, the quality of the detailing and the fit of this set. It really is stunning.
Lovehoney’s Enchant Me Eyelash Lace Balcony Cup Basque set
I wanted something in black, and I like wearing basques to flatter my curves. This was ideal, especially since it has a zip front fastening! The blue contrasting trim and eyelash detail make it appear very luxurious, and the panelling created by the boning make it slimming.
The demi-cups of the bust show off my cleavage nicely. The matching G-string is also flattering, rather than being unforgivably skimpy as some G-strings in basque sets can be. I got the set in a large, and it fits my size 14 top-half and size 14-16 bottom-half well. Teamed with some lacy topped stockings, the result is utterly seductive!
